BASQUE COUNTRY MTB HOLIDAY PLANNING

We normally meet at 9:00-9:30 in the morning and after a briefing we start the day loading the bikes on to the trailer and driving to the beginning of the route. After getting ready we start with the morning ride. At around 13:30, we stop to have lunch in a typical bar or restaurant in the area.

After lunch, we continue with the ride and usually finish at around 17:00 – 17:30, when we have a cold beer. At the end of the day, we return to the base camp in Hondarribia.

BASQUE MOUNTAIN BIKING SEASON

Almost all of the mountain bike trails in the Basque Country can be done 365 days a year. Therefore we are able to offer our Basque Country mountain bike holidays all year around. The best time to come is from March to November.

Small groups and local MTB guides will assure you get the best of this mountain biking experience in Northern Spain.

Based in Hondarribia

Hondarribia, a small fishing village on the Spanish border with France, is our base camp. Hondarribia is located on the coast, twenty kilometres between San Sebastian and Biarritz.

From this strategic location we have access within short distance to the best mountain bike trails in the Basque Country.

The traditional picturesque fishing village of Hondarribia is also home to a beautiful medieval oldtown. The atmosphere in town is really lifely and friendly. There are many great bars and restaurants, perfect to taste some local delicacies after cycling.

Casa Rural Haritzpe is our choice for the accommodation during your stay. This traditional basque cottage is located at the foothills of Jaizkibel, 2kms from the city centre.

It offers luxury bedrooms in unbeatable surroundings. There is a kitchen, a large dinning room, a terrace and a huge garden. For our clients there is also also a workshop to fix and store the bikes.

The price of our Basque Country mountain bike holiday includes guides, transfers and accommodation.

A week long trip including 7 nights and 5 riding days costs 895€.

BIKES

For our Basque Country MTB trip we offer the possibility of renting top quality full suspension Focus bikes and E-bikes.

Hiring a high quality full suspension bike costs 55€/day.

Hiring a high quality full suspension E-bike costs 75€/day.

ACCOMMODATION

The price includes accommodation in the wonderful Casa Rural Haritzpe (two riders per room). This lovely cottage located in the hills of Jaizkibel offers luxury bedrooms in unbeatable surroundings. All the rooms have their own bathroom and TV. Apart from the rooms, there is a workshop in the cottage to fix and store the bikes, a kitchen and a large dining room.

Internationally recognized, Basque gastronomy is definitely an essential part of our culture. In this mountain biking experience you could enjoy it in different ways.
